1. Krakow, Poland - pros and cons
Pros:
Rich history - Krakow has a lot of history and heritage, from Wawel Castle to the Jewish Quarter and concentration camp.
Nightlife - Krakow has a great nightlife with loads of bars, clubs and pubs to get stuck into and have a laugh.
Budget - Compared to other European cities Krakow is great value for money so perfect for a stag do on a budget.
Cons:
Crowded - In peak season Krakow can get very busy so you can’t take your time to enjoy the city.
Limited public transport - Getting around Krakow can be tough as the public transport isn’t always reliable or accessible. But everything is close so...
Flights - Krakow is currently experiencing a decrease in low cost flights in 2024 but this should change soon.
2. Gdansk, Poland - pros and cons
Pros:
Beautiful architecture - Gdansk is a city full of old buildings, St. Mary’s Church and the Green Gate are must sees. Plus THE SEASIDE and proximity to Sopot - the polish party mecca.
Hidden stag gem - As Gdansk is a hidden gem in the stag weekend industry activities are more accessible and of a higher standard and cheaper than Prague or Budapest. Did we mention it’s by the sea so girls come in bikinis?
Affordable - Gdansk is very budget friendly compared to other European cities so perfect for a stag do.
Cons:
Limited nightlife - Gdansk doesn’t have as big of a clubbing scene as other cities. Sopot, a party mecca part of Tricity makes up for it in excess ( 10 mins extra in an Uber)
Crowded - In peak tourist season (July-August) Gdansk can get very busy so you can’t take your time to enjoy the city’s landmarks and atmosphere.
Limited public transport - Public transport in Tricity can be limited so you’ll need a car to get around. Distances are a bit bigger in Tricity - Sopot, Gdynia, Gdansk).
3. Prague, Czech Republic - pros and cons
Pros:
Beautiful architecture - Prague is a city full of old buildings, Charles Bridge and Prague Castle are must sees.
Thriving nightlife - Prague has a great nightlife with loads of bars, clubs and pubs to get stuck into and have a laugh.
Historic - Prague is full of historic landmarks, Old Town Square and the Jewish Quarter are must sees.
Cons:
Crowded - In peak season (March-November) Prague can get very busy so you can’t enjoy the city’s sights, book a table or an activity. In Prague you need to book in advance.
Expensive - Compared to other Eastern European cities Prague can be more expensive so not as budget friendly for stag dos. But way less expensive than Amsterdam or Berlin.
4. Warsaw, Poland - pros and cons
Pros:
Growing nightlife - Warsaw has seen a big growth in its nightlife in recent years with loads of bars, clubs and pubs to choose from for a night out.
Cultural - Warsaw is a city steeped in history and culture from its Old Town to the Palace of Culture and Science so it’s a must see destination for anyone.
Affordable - Compared to other European cities Warsaw (Poland in general) is a budget friendly destination so perfect for stags on a budget.
Cons:
Crowded - During peak season Warsaw can get busy so you won’t have time to take in the sights and sounds at your leisure.
Public transport - Navigating Warsaw can be a pain as the public transport isn’t always reliable or easily accessible.
Weather - Warsaw’s weather can be unpredictable with long cold winters and hot humid summers.
5. Bratislava, Slovakia - pros and cons
Pros:
Architecture - Bratislava is a city of beautiful buildings from St. Martin’s Cathedral to the UFO Bridge.
Nightlife - Bratislava has a pretty lively nightlife with loads of bars, clubs and pubs to choose from for a night out. Girls are absolutely stunning! The best looking in Europe!
Budget friendly - Compared to Prague or Budapest Bratislava is a budget destination so perfect for stags on a budget.
Cons:
Limited cultural side - Bratislava doesn’t have as many cultural attractions as other cities so not ideal for stags who want to experience the city’s history and heritage.
Crowded - During peak season (April-September) Bratislava can get busy so you won’t have time to take in the sights and atmosphere at your leisure.
Services - Services in Slovakia aren’t as good as in Poland or Scandinavia so can be frustrating at times.
6. Budapest, Hungary - pros and cons
Pros:
Scenic - Budapest is a city of incredible buildings from the Fisherman’s Bastion to the Parliament Building.
