THE BOYS' GAMES Overview
The Amsterdam Boys' is all about pushing your limits with some serious strength, speed, flexibility, and teamwork. Whether you're throwing a caber or battling it out in Archery Tag, there’s something for everyone to show off their skills. 1.5 hours of fun!
You meet your guide at Rhoneweg 32, put on your kilts and get a quick briefing on the games. The group then splits into teams and goes through the events, from tossing the caber and lifting the Atholl stones to a tug of war, a barrel race, the hammer toss and a round of Archery Tag. The guide keeps score and the pace up, and everyone gets a water to stay hydrated. After 1.5 hours of banter and mild bruising, you return the kilts and crown the winners.
As the games are outdoors, dress for the weather and wear sports shoes you can run in. Wear shorts or something comfortable under the kilt.
The Boys' Games works best as a daytime highlight, so fill the rest of the day with a relaxed activity. Good fits are a brewery tour, a whisky tasting or a barbecue in the park. For the evening, add a steak and strip dinner, then a private pub crawl, the shared bar crawl in Leidseplein or the shared night out in the Red Light District.
